So you spent the better part of your summer and spring
out on the water having a blast riding your new ski tube.
Unfortunately the weather is about to change for a while.
It is going to get cold and no on in their right mind
will be out on the water. It is very important that you
store your boat towable properly. After all you do want
to use it again next season don't you? If you store it
properly, it will be there waiting for you when the weather
starts to warm up.
The first thing that you need to consider is the air
bladder. This is what keeps that magical tube afloat.
It holds all of the air in tight. You must completely
remove all of the air before you store it away. If you
do not, the air could expand and cause some damage to
your tube. Besides once it is deflated, it will fit
into a much smaller space. Everyone needs as much space
as possible.
Once you have the tube deflated, you need to make sure
that it is dry and I mean DRY. Not one drop of water
should remain on or in your towable. If it does, it
can cause mold which can help rot your tube and you
do not want that. Plus if you put it away wet, chances
are when you go to get it next season it will smell
really bad from all of the mildew. Make sure that it
is dry!
The next thing is extremely important. Once the tube
is deflated and completely dry, make sure that you DO
NOT store the tube in direct sunlight. The UV rays of
the sun can be harmful to the tube if it is exposed
to direct sunlight for a long period of time.
That is it. If you follow these simple steps your tube
will ready to ride year after year!
